MINIX was born out of a response to the obviously and increasing need to the lack of games accessibility for many people who do not have high-performance computers. In an environment where commercial video games require expensive and powerful equipment, MINIX proposes an inclusive and efficient alternative.
The central idea was clear from the beginning: to develop a web platform with light,
funcional and entertaining video games, specially designed to run on any type of device, regardless of its technical capacity.
Over the course of two semesters of continuous work, the team behind MINIX was dedicated to the planning, design, programming and testing of different video games. They all share the same philosophy: being accessible, fast to load, easy to play and compatible with common browsers.
MINIX also promotes the learning of video game development, through visual manuals that guide the user step by step in the creation of their own projects. This makes the platform an educational tool.
Thanks to this approach, MINIX received first place at ExpoLEM Summer 2025, an achievement that reflects the effort and creativity of the development team.
At MINIX, we want each user to learn how to create their own video games using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. To achieve this, we offer example games and a detailed step-by-step manual.
The goal is for the user to understand what each line of code is for, without the need to be fluent in English. The manual is in Spanish, with clear and visual language, allowing anyone, even without experience, to understand the logic of development.
MINIX is more than just a gaming platform: it's an educational tool to encourage creative learning in a practical, accessible, and fun way.
